Five.5 Grill
About This Spot
Stepping into Five.5 Grill feels like uncovering a well-kept secret nestled in the heart of Hilliard. The modest strip mall setting gives way to a space that gently hums with welcoming energy—somewhere between a casual neighborhood diner and a lively local bar. Here, the pace is unhurried but bright, where the clatter of dishes and muted cheers from the TV screens bounce lightly against the warm, straightforward décor.
The atmosphere invites a mix of visitors: families winding down after a long day, friends gathered over wings and conversation, and travelers seeking a friendly spot to refuel. The presence of classic arcade games and a small ice cream counter adds playful surprises, hinting at a place that embraces simple joys without pretense.
At Five.5 Grill, meals become moments. Whether it’s the satisfying crunch of fried okra and pickles that arrive crisp on the plate or the generous cheeseburger with its familiar, comforting heft, food here carries a touch of Southern charm alongside American staples. Shrimp dishes and a hearty open-faced pot roast offer a nod to coastal flavors and homestyle comfort, while vibrant salads and fresh sides keep things balanced. Pairing a plate with a cold Miller Lite or savoring some all-you-can-eat wings brings the feeling of shared ease and unforced togetherness.
It’s a place where the details matter just enough—the diligently maintained cleanliness and attentive service shape a calm and pleasant experience. Small edges, like an ice cream treat waiting for after the meal or the occasional playful challenge of a claw machine, contribute to a layered sense of welcome that invites lingering.
Five.5 Grill doesn’t aspire to be flashy or polished; instead, it quietly offers an honest, grounded refuge for locals and visitors alike. It’s a spot that feels comfortable in its own skin, where good food and familiar surroundings encourage a return visit as naturally as a friendly nod from across the room.

Same owners as R&R, there are some different menu options at 5.5 then at R&R. Gator tail is my go-to here. or anything with the Boom Boom sauce also always clean and lovely.

My family was traveling through Hilliard, FL headed to Hinesville, GA. We stopped at Five .5 Grille an hour about closing. This place is tucked in a small strip mall and isn’t anything fancy. It is a mix of diner/sporty bar. There were tv mounted around the dining area, an ice cream shop area, and quarter games: like a gum ball machine and claw machine. It seemed a place we’d bring our kids. There was even a framed prayer on the wall, we prayed before our meal. The waitress was friendly and prompt with getting drinks, our order, and all-around great service. We are huge water drinkers but the water was nasty. It was too late for a soda, so we ordered a beer. Beer has a minimal selection but it was fine. There were so many options on the menu. We ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and the Pickle Cheeseburger. Man, these burgers were great, huge, and messy! I loved the paper towels for napkins, just like home. The portions were large. I would definitely recommend this place and will stop by driving through Hilliard. Ask the staff the reason for the name of the restaurant.

Pretty impressive with this place. The burgers were HUGE and tasty, and for a good price. The ice cream is also a pretty nice bonus.

Great service and tasty chicken. Sides could be better seasoned. Recommend all things fried here. Bonus you can get ice cream in the same spot! Bathrooms could use some love. But overall good spot in Hilliard.
